About

Jack Filsinger is a writer whose childhood dream was to design roller coasters. But ultimately, he decided to pursue the arts once he learned how much math that involved. He studied at New York University, earning a degree in Film and Television before moving back to his hometown of Los Angeles to pursue his new dream of writing and becoming an utter cliché. Over the past few years, Jack has worked as a freelance writer, assistant, coordinator, and reader at various outlets and production companies.

As a screenwriter, Jack primarily writes dramedies, and about the queer experience, which is redundant. His feature “Unmatched” was a Top 3 Finalist in the Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Competition in the Comedy/Rom-Com category. Additionally, his pilot “Madame Caillaux” was a Semifinalist in the Screen Craft True Story & Public Domain Contest. He was also a Semifinalist in the Disney Entertainment Television Fellowship program for the 2023 cohort.

When he’s not writing, Jack is an occasionally over-competitive tennis player and a very slow half-marathoner! He is the co-host of the criminally overlooked video game review podcast “Lads Who Game,” though he is aware of how uncool that sounds. He thoroughly believes that astrology is real, and anyone who doesn’t is probably a Gemini.

Jack’s writing can be found in BuzzFeed, Screen Rant, The Huffington Post, Creative Screenwriting Magazine, the Network ISA Blog, and SlashGear.

He currently works for the audio narrative app Pocket FM as a Lead Writer.
